Campaign for Kids is a non-profit
registered charity that
had been operating in Kentville, NS for 30 years. Established by
Family and Children’s Services of Kings County, Campaign
for Kids was created to address the overwhelming number of
requests for assistance from families in crisis.
Something you will find unique about Campaign for Kids is
very little of our money goes into administration. While other
non-profit organizations spend large amounts of donated funds
on wages, salaries and other operating expenses, at Campaign
for Kids our Board of Directors is composed of volunteers and
our network of business contacts allows us to run the Foundation
at minimal costs. We ensure that all donations go directly
to the local children who need it most.
Why we do it
We are dedicated to
helping underprivileged children, supporting families in crises
and putting an end to child abuse in our
community. Campaign for Kids has helped hundreds of children
and families in our county over the last thirty years.
Community
support has enabled us to fund specialized parenting programs,
provide training for professionals who are working with families
in crisis, sponsor summer camps, fund glasses and medical
prescriptions and so much more. We are dedicated to making
a difference in the lives of our children. We believe that
every child matters. That is why all the money we raise stays
in Kings County to help local children.
About the Board
The Campaign for Kids Board of Directors is
composed of devoted volunteers from across Kings County. These
volunteers come
from a wide variety of backgrounds, giving the Foundation
a deep well of resources to
draw from. The Board of Director’s
role is to focus entirely upon raising funds—which
are disbursed only through the Board’s approval—and
to develop a profile in the community as a reputable non-profit
organization.
