We provide support for children and families whose
needs cannot be met by existing programs and services.
Funds generated
assist families who have no other source of support. On a daily
basis, we help families buy glasses and prescription
medications, as well as other essentials for their children.
We fund special programs such as summer camps for special
needs children and provide individual resources for children at
risk
of abuse and neglect.
We fund, support and promote child abuse
prevention and positive parenting programs.
Through donated funds,
Campaign for Kids is able to offer a variety of programs
for families designed to prevent child
abuse and enhance parenting skills. These services are provided
through Family and Children's Services of Kings County, Kings
County Family Resource Center, as well as a number of outreach
programs.
We financially support the Jennifer Gilson Memorial
Education Trust.
Jennifer Gilson was a much loved and inspirational
13-year-old foster child. After surviving far longer than
anyone had predicted,
her battle with a rare and debilitating disease came to an
end. In her memory, this fund was established to make dreams
possible for disadvantaged youth in Kings County. Now, local
youth in foster care can pursue post-secondary education
they would not otherwise be able to access.
